Lone volunteers :p>

Agreed by committee :p>

-          to include lone volunteer contact details on list if they are happy to be the contact for their county :p>

-          if they do not wish to be a contact, then we will ask neighbouring a county whether they would temporarily be the contact point for lone a volunteer. :p>

If the neighbouring county is unable to (or there isn’t a CC), then Robert Bates will be the contact for that lone volunteer. :p>

New people :p>

John Steadman who already runs Beds and  Bucks counties is now offering to become Eastern Area Organiser as well. :p>

Brian Barr is the new Area Organiser for Wales and West.

People who have left :p>

Sandra Rice and Chris Booth both stepped down from the IT Can Help Steering Group.  Marjorie Corner has stepped down as Devon CC due to work pressure. The committee want to thank them for all the work they have done on behalf of ITCH.

Contact list :p>

Bob Twitchen will circulate a draft of the latest contact list to the Steering Group. This lists all county controllers and Area Organisers.

Activity Level :p>

No details available at the moment for 2nd quarter. :p>

Bob has sent form out to CCs for 3rd Quarter (Jul-Sept) and will provide results at next meeting. To all CCs, and lone volunteers , please send us your summary of work that you have done (if you have not already done so!). This is the way that we prove to BCSDG (British Computer Society Disability Group) how busy we are to show them we need more funding. :p>

FINANCE :p>

Please claim your expenses as we DO have the money to pay them. If we do not claim any money then there is a risk that BCSDG will reduce our grant.  :p>

We are still attempting to open an IT Can Help bank account. We presently use the BCSDG bank account. :p>

Funds :p>

BCS-DG agreed to support ITCH to the tune of £5,100 for the current financial year. The funds will be issued as follows: :p>

-          £250 May & June :p>

-          £400 per month July to April 2001 :p>

-          £600 for last July’s National Gathering event in Warwick. (£116 spent so far) :p>

ITCH is presently in credit by approx. £870.

Mileage Rate :p>

The mileage rate has been increased to 25 pence per mile

TCH Email addresses for contact purposes
To avoid giving out personal email addresses, having to reissue contact
details when people change ISPs, and to avoid people being pestered if they
leave ITCH, Andres Crespo, our Internet specialist, has created email
addresses in the form  [email protected] for all AOs and CCs. He will
be contacting CCs to let them know their email address and password. The
password is needed to access some parts of the ITCH Website, see below.

Website
Website is at www.itcanhelp.org.uk
The site, designed by Andres, includes both a public section with information
about ITCH, contact information and useful links and also an area with
additional information accessible only to ITCH people with authorised email
addresses and passwords. :p>

What would you like to see on the website, please give us feedback on how you find it. For example, there is a map that shows which areas of the UK are now covered by IT Can Help.

The committee agreed to pay up to £200 per year to move our ITCH email accounts to a more reliable mail server.
